Mr. Samuel Massicotte practises mainly in the areas of civil and commercial litigation, more specifically in matters relating to construction law and professional liability.

As a litigator, he acts in matters of professional liability on behalf of architects, lawyers, chiropractors and engineers.

Over the years, he has developed an knowledge in complex and lengthy technical disputes and regularly appears before trial and appeal courts, as well as in disciplinary matters. He is currently handling a number of high-profile cases involving both professional liability and administrative law.

He holds a bachelor’s degree in law from Université Laval and a master’s degree in European law from Université de Nantes. He was admitted to the Barreau du Québec in 1998. Mr. Massicotte has been a lecturer at Université Laval since 2005, where he teaches Pratique professionnelle II, a construction law course for master’s students in architecture. Since 2006, he has also taught at the École du Barreau du Québec and is an instructor for the Ordre des architectes du Québec. He is also a speaker for various organisations and professional associations. Finally, he served as a Deputy Judge Advocate in the Canadian Forces for just over six years at the rank of Captain in the Naval Reserve.

Me Massicotte has also been recognized by the prestigious legal directory The Best Lawyers in Canada 2024 edition in the categories of construction law, corporate and commercial litigation and professional malpractice law.
